Mikel Arteta expects new Arsenal recruitment after Pepe's departure

The Gunners had a busy summer signing Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira, and Gabriel Jesus while ousting high earners like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, splashing the cash to land additions. There were Financial Fair Play concerns about new additions at Emirates Stadium.

However, the

Arsenal

boss has hinted

Nicolas Pepe

's loan to Nice has opened the door for Arsenal to find a replacement as

Mikel Arteta

is confident further additions won't breach UEFA's Financial Fair Play rule.

Ahead of their Saturday Premier League derby against

Fulham

, the

Spanish

manager told his press conference:

"We are compliant, and we have heard nothing so I don't know what that is.

"I think the club has been very disciplined and with a very clear vision of how we want to do things. In that sense nothing changes."

The Ivory Coast international

failed to live up to expectations after a £72million move from

Lille

three years ago as he joined

Nice

on a season-long loan deal. The Spaniard is confident the Gunners will find a replacement in the coming days.

"If we can implement the plan that we have we will try to do it. In that plan, [Pepe leaving] was something that could happen, and now it's a reality. We’ve been preparing for the last two months and now we will see."

Still trying to get rid of their dead woods, Arsenal is yet to find a suitor for

Hector Bellerin

and

Ainsley Maitland-Niles

. Arteta admits further exits could be witnessed in the final week of the window.

"

There are still a few players where we're discussing their futures and we want to find the best solution for all parties,"

Arteta explained.
