Nagelsmann after Bayern's victory over Wolfsburg

Jamal Musiala kept his fine form and met the target for Bayern Munich in their opener against Wolfsburg, which came down to a 2-0 victory for Bayern and the club manager was delighted with his side's display.

Jamal Musiala

met the back of the net and handed

Bayern Munich

a lead 12 minutes into the game. Then, one minute after the break, Thomas Muller doubled their lead, helping his side dominate the clash against Wolfsburg, which was their Bundesliga opener game.

Julian Nagelsmann

was delighted with his side’s performance despite their weak first few minutes at the beginning of the game.

Julian Nagelsmann: "

I wasn't happy with the first 15 minutes. Our pressing got bypassed a lot and we lost second balls. Then we had a very good phase and deservedly took the lead. In the second half it was more about holding possession and controlling the game"

He then went on to explain what was important to them in this match as oppose to the last few games they played.

Nagelsmann:

"In the last few games, we conceded a lot of counters because we still wanted to score more goals. Today we wanted more control (in the 2nd half) and kept a clean sheet, which was very important. The second half wasn't a spectacle, but it was a deserved win"

The club manager then commented on Musiala’s performance and praised his display on Sunday.

Nagelsmann on Musiala:

"He's an extremely humble player who always wants to learn & improve. I'm very happy for the standing ovation he got today. It's always about looking ahead and confirming these performances. I hope he'll have many other performances like today & score goals.”
