Barcelona to keep Frenkie de Jong and sell Aubameyang to Chelsea
Rumors about Frenkie de Jong dominated the last summer window as the Dutchman was linked with a move to Manchester United. However, with the player unwilling to relocate, the move seemingly collapsed even though Barcelona seemingly was eager to sell the player due to the financial struggles.
Now according to Marca and Goal journalist,
Alex Pintanel, the Catalan giants have changed their minds and are willing to keep
Frenkie de Jongthis season.
kicked off their La Liga season on Saturday with a 0-0 draw against
Rayo Vallecanoas de Jong came off the bench to make an eye-catching appearance. The Dutchman was a driving force in midfield as he shifted the Blaugrana quality in the final 30 minutes of the game.
Barcelona supposedly was keen to sell de Jong due to his large amount of salary and their economical struggles, hence, they gave the player the option of leaving or reducing his salary, even considering legal action against the player who was unwilling to join

The La Liga giants are reportedly planning to balance their financial struggle by selling
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been linked with a move to
