Diego Lainez’s father caused Real Betis exit

Being expected to be one of the greatest talents of the Mexican football, things did not go according to the plan for Diego Lainez at Real Betis.

Diego Lainez

went to

Real Betis

in 2019 on a deal worth €14m but he did not live up to the expectations and could not make the first team, notwithstanding some flashes of brilliance.

This summer he has departed Real Betis on a loan deal and joined SC Braga. The contract includes a buy clause that would allow them to seal his signature for a price tag of €7m.

According to reports from

Mundo Deportivo

, Pablo Carrillo, the Mexican journalist, has said that his leave was not just due to footballing reasons.

Mauro Lainez is very involved in the career of his son and argues with coaches and managers all the time. He intervenes in situations that he shouldn’t, which not only irritated his ex-boss Miguel Herrera at Club America, but also his managers at Betis. Manuel Pellegrini and Real Betis cannot take it anymore with his father.
