England captain Leah Williamson hopes the Lionesses' Euro 2022 win creates a change in society.

final at Wembley on Sunday. This is the first time England has won a European Championship tournament in Men’s or Women’s games.

Captain Leah Williamson after the match told the BBC:

"I just can't stop crying!"

"With something like this, we talk and we talk and we talk, and we finally did it! We did it on the pitch and I'll tell you what, the kids are alright!

"It's the proudest moment of my life - until the day I have kids I suppose! I'm going to lap it up. Every piece of advice I got was to take every single second of it in because you're going to want to relive it over and over. I'll be reliving that for a long time.”

Sunday’s Euro 2022 final set a new attendance record for any European Championship match after 87,192 spectators attended Wembley and Williamson say this victory will create a change in society.

"Listen, the legacy of this tournament is a change in society. It's everything that we've done, we've brought everybody together, we've got people at games, and we want them to come to WSL games. But the legacy of this team is 'winners' and that's the start of this journey,"

she said.
