Mount: Sterling will be a leader at Chelsea

Mason Mount says the new Chelsea signing Raheem Sterling will be a leader at the London club.

Chelsea

on Wednesday confirmed the signing of

Raheem Sterling

from Manchester City on a five-year deal. The 27-year-old left-winger is the first signing for Chelsea under new owner Todd Boehly. Sterling passed his medical in London and has flown to Los Angeles to join Chelsea's pre-season tour.

The England international joined Manchester City from Liverpool in 2015 and played 339 times for City and scored 131 goals. Sterling won four Premier League titles, four League Cups, and the FA Cup at City.

Mason Mount

who has played with Sterling in England national team told Sky Sports:

“He is coming in and will definitely be someone that is gonna lead and be a big presence and personality within the group. Hopefully, we can win some things together.”

“Definitely,”

Mount responded when asked if Sterling could become a leader at the Stamford Bridge.

“He is a top player and I have learned a lot from him over the last couple of years.

“For him to be joining us is only going to bring our levels higher. He is definitely someone who strives for high levels and wins."
