Aberdeen set asking price for Liverpool target Ramsey

Liverpool wants to sign Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay this summer.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has been seeking a back-up to Trent Alexander-Arnold for some time and they identified the highly-rated 18-year-old as their number one target this summer.

According to  Sky Sport,

Liverpool

made an initial £4m offer, with £2m in add-ons but

Aberdeen

rejected it. Sky claims that Aberdeen wants at least £5m up-front, with £5m in add-ons.

Fabrizio Romano also has confirmed talks between both clubs. Romano says that Liverpool has reached an agreement with Ramsey on personal terms and they are confident in signing him from Aberdeen.

A number of clubs in England, Germany, and Italy are interested in

Ramsey

and he has been tracked by the likes of Manchester United and Spurs but defender wants to join Liverpool.

Ramsey broke into the Aberdeen first team in the 2020/21 season and made 33 appearances for the Dons last season and scored one goal. He recently won the Scottish Football Writers' Association Young Player of the Year award.

Ramsay would be Liverpool's second signing of the summer after Fabio Carvalho. The Reds are also close to breaking their transfer record by signing Darwin Nunez for 75m euros.
