Turkish club Karagumruk in talks with Pirlo

Former Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo is in negotiations with Turkish side Fatih Karagumruk.

According to the Italian press, several clubs are interested in hiring Pirlo but at the moment Karagumruk is the favourite to sign him.

Italian players like Fabio Borini and Emiliano Viviano are playing with Karagumruk. Karagumruk finished in eighth place in the last season’s Super Lig.

The 43-year-old Pirlo started his coaching career in the 2020 summer when he was appointed as Juventus manager. He won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana with Juventus but at the end of the season was sacked.

Pirlo last summer after leaving Juventus said his experience hasn't changed his view about coaching.

“I’m not going to change it because some of the results weren’t good,”

he says.

“That’s still how I think about the game — playing out from the back, looking to keep the ball, regaining possession as quickly as possible. A lot depends on the players you have available to you and what they enable you to do. Players are much more important than coaches. It’s the coaches who must adapt.”

Pirlo during his playing career played for Brescia, Reggina,

Inter, Milan

,

Juventus,

and New York City FC. He won 6 Serie A and two Champions League titles. Pirlo also won the 2006 World cup with Italy.
