Ferdinand & Terry restart their feud over PL's all-time center-backs

After taking issue with a seemingly benign list of all-time finest

center-backs, Rio Ferdinand accused John Terry of having a "fragile ego."

During an interview with Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk,

icon Ferdinand put himself first and

legend Terry sixth.

Ferdinand ranked Nemanja Vidic, a former United center-back, second, with Van Dijk and Jaap Stam ahead of Terry. 

Terry was described as follows by the BT Sport pundit: "In terms of his longevity at that club, what they won, body on the line, a much better footballer than people give him credit for, could play off his left and right foot."

Terry, on the other hand, seems displeased by Ferdinand's judgment and turned to Instagram to boast about his accomplishments and writing: "Opinions are great but stats don't lie…"

The feud was subsequently carried to Twitter, with Ferdinand bringing up Terry's 2011 accusation of using racist words at his brother Anton.

Terry was found not guilty in court, but he did get a four-match suspension and a £200,000 fine from the Football Association for using "abusive and/or insulting words and/or behavior" that "included a reference to Anton Ferdinand's ethnic background, color, and/or race." 

"@JohnTerry26 The moment one has to start pushing their own records and stats it's really time to start addressing the fragile ego." Ferdinand wrote in his post.

"Your (sic) lucky I even put you in the top 5 after the racism case with my brother so be thankful you made it."

Terry took his own shot back, writing in reply: "A fragile Ego is putting yourself at Number 1 @rioferdy5. Thanks for putting me in your top 5."

Terry responded when another user accused him of disregarding Ferdinand's argument about the racism allegations: "Stats don’t lie: not guilty. Addressed it, now what?"

With Man Utd, Ferdinand won the Premier League six times, as well as the Champions League, Club World Cup, and EFL Cup twice.

Terry won five Premier League championships, five FA Cups, and three EFL Cups during his time with the Blues.

He also possesses Champions League and Europa League winners' medals, despite the fact that he did not play in either of Chelsea's winning finals in 2012 and 2013.
