Nagelsmann says Muller's new deal will prompt the likes of Lewandowski

Julian Nagelsmann is hoping that Thomas Muller's new contract would encourage players such as Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry to remain with the club.

Julian Nagelsmann

believes that

Thomas Muller

's new contract sends a "positive signal" and hopes that other

Bayern Munich

players will follow his example.

Muller, who has been with the Bundesliga winners for more than a decade, has extended his contract with the club until 2024.

Tolisso and Sule are both nearing the end of their contracts with the Bavarians, with the latter expected to join them as a free agent ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Robert Lewandowski

, Manuel Neuer, and

Serge Gnabry

are all under contract with the Bavarians until the end of next season, while Corentin Tolisso and Niklas Sule are both nearing the end of theirs.

Bayern manager Joachim Nagelsmann believes that keeping Muller was critical and that the 32-year-choice old's pledge of his future to the club may encourage some of his teammates to do the same.

In a news conference held on Friday, he stated: "His extension was critical, as it will send a positive signal to people both within and outside of the club, which will be beneficial.

"It's possible that more companies will follow suit now. I'm overjoyed with the outcome." Bayern Munich will play their final home game of the season on Sunday against relegation-threatened Stuttgart at the

Allianz Arena

in Munich.

The Meisterschale trophy will be awarded to the champions, and Nagelsmann expects his team to put on a show in front of a sell-out audience to earn the trophy for them. He stated, "I'm not going to lie, I'm not going to lie." "In spite of the fact that I have great admiration for Pellegrino Matarazzo as a person and as a coach, I want to win this game.

"We are going to give everything we have to try and win our final home game in front of a sold-out Arena this season," said the team. Stuttgart are 16th in the table and fighting to stay out of the relegation zone, but Nagelsmann believes they can be a threat.

He went on to say: "They're a really adaptable group of players. They can be configured in a variety of various ways. Matarazzo has some creative ideas. They're in a difficult position as they fight to avoid relegation. At critical points in the season, they've suffered a number of injuries."

Bayern Munich has only lost their last Bundesliga home game once in the past 38 seasons, and it was Stuttgart who inflicted the setback on them, winning 4-1 in 2018.
