Mihajlovic discharged from hospital after leukaemia treatment

Bologna manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has been discharged from the hospital after undergoing further leukemia treatment.

Bologna

football club has announced that their manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has been discharged from hospital after undergoing leukemia treatment and is in good condition.

"Sinisa Mihajlovic was today discharged from the Sant'Orsola Hospital, in good condition. Forza Mister, we are with you," read the tweet from Bologna's official account.

Mihajlovic revealed in late March that due to a risk of a relapse, he has to step back from hands-on coaching duties for an unspecified amount of time.

It's expected that the 53 year old would be rejoining his players for the final three matches of the current Serie A season. Bologna sits in 13th position in the

Serie A

table.

Mihajlović in November 2008 was appointed as Bologna manager but lost his position in April 2009. In January 2019, he became Bologna manager for the second time.

Mihajlovic was first diagnosed with the leukemia in July 2019 and underwent a bone marrow transplant in October 2019. Bologna insists Mihajlović would stay in charge of the club nonetheless and just six weeks later, he returned to the Bologna dugout.

Mihajlovic has managed the likes of Sporting Lisbon, AC Milan, and Sampdoria during his managerial career.
