Emery confirmed: Moreno injured during Getafe game
Villareal star may lose the rest of the season due to the last night's injury.
boss Unai Emery has confirmed that star striker
Gerard Morenohas been ruled out of the 2-1 win over
Getafe.
The Spanish star scored the first goal in Madrid, and Manu Trigueros scored the second goal for Villarreal. Getafe made up for one of the goals, but in the end, Emery's side gained three points in the game. Last week, they reached the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2006 with a victory over Bayern Munich, and Moreno's absence from Liverpool will make things difficult for them.
Emery said:
“It’s a muscle injury, let’s see how serious it is. We have to try to continue with patience so that he recovers.
“Repeated muscle injuries are frustrating. That’s the negative note from tonight.”
