Missiles thrown during Old Firm derby hit Celtic staff

A thumping 2-1 victory over Rangers put Celtic in control in their competition for the title in Scotland; however, the match was ruined as missiles were thrown.

Ange Postecoglou

, the

Celtic

boss, revealed that one of his coaching staff got hit when the missiles were thrown during the game with

Rangers

.

Celtic sealed a 2-1 win in the Old Firm derby and had their lead over Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership extended to six points and there are only six games left.

Aaron Ramsey netted for his side to give them an early lead but Tomas Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers to score for Celtic and secure a win.

The match, however, was ruined as there were glass bottles thrown on the field. Before the start of the second half, the game was delayed since parts of broken bottles were seen in the penalty area of Celtic.

In a different incident, one of the staff members of Celtic was hurt as an object was thrown by the fans.

"

Yeah, he was [hit by a missile], on the way in. I think he is okay. He had a couple of stitches,"

Postecoglou told reporters when quizzed whether the staff member was struck by a missile.

"It is disappointing because this is a game that gets beamed around the world and it stands on its own.

"You had two teams going at it in first and second spot and you don't need a couple of idiots spoiling it."
