Spurs trash Newcastle with 5 goals to go fourth in Premier league

Spurs move into the top four after coming from behind to batter Newcastle.

Fabian Schär put the visitors, who had looked the better side for most of the first half, ahead but Ben Davies levelled quickly and Spurs blew Newcastle away after the break with another 4 goals.

Matt Doherty, Son Heung-min, Emerson Royal and the substitute Steven Bergwijn all scored for Antonio Conte’s team.

Harry Kane

failed to score but registered an assist and put in a man of the match performance in front of

Spurs

fans.

Spurs are now level on 54 points with Arsenal but their London rivals have two games in hand and can move back into fourth place when they visit Crystal Palace on Monday night. Newcastle are 15th with 31 points, nine clear of the relegation zone.

It's the first time Spurs have been in the Champions League qualifying spots since September. This was also their third win in a row in the Premier League.
