All the PL Covid-19 measures will be removed

The Premier League will remove all the emergency measures by the end of February.

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Boris Johnson

has announced that there will be new plans concerning the pandemic and insists that free symptomatic and asymptomatic testing will end in England from April 1 and that self-isolation rules will not be necessary for people.

Johnson says that the government’s politics against Covid-19 will change as they are subject to parliament’s approval.

These new plans will give the Premier League more freedom to make new decisions for the competition, and the first decision that is being reviewed is only testing the players with symptoms.

The Premier League’s announcement on Monday revealed that only nine players had contacted Covid-19.

A league statement read:

"The Premier League can today confirm that between Monday 14 February and Sunday 20 February, 2,958 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, there were nine new positive tests."

These results were satisfying to everyone as it was the first time that the number of positive cases was in single digits since November 22, and this has made the decision-makers and the medical advisors and stakeholders decide to reduce the number of lateral flow testing for players and staff members.
