Barcelona signed two teenager stars from Santos

Barcelona has been successful in attracting two Brazilian youngsters from Santos.

Santos

president Andres Rueda has confirmed that

Barcelona

have signed Kaiky and Angelo Gabriel, two young Brazilian stars.

The Blaugrana has been facing a financial crisis in recent years and with a debt of € 1.4 billion by 2021, they are focusing on attracting young and free players. The loan they recently received from a bank led to the signing of

Ferran Torres

for €65 million in the winter transfer window, as well as the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Dani Alves as free agents, and Adama Traore on loan wtih a 34.4 buy-out clause in his contract.

Despite financial difficulties, Barcelona do not intend to ignore the young talents, while in recent years they have failed to buy Vinicius Jr., Reinier and Rodrygo in a battle with Real Madrid.

Santos have now confirmed that their star teenagers, Kaiky and Angelo have agreed to move to Barcelona and join the team. According to Rueda , the deal is the result of the transfer of Gabriel Barbosa in 2016, which cost the club 3 million euros.

He told Sport:

"At Santos we had 10 priority situations to resolve that could lead to a transfer ban or a court order to block accounts. One was with Barcelona, who had an option to buy Gabigol, which, unfortunately, [Santos] did not respect in 2016. The case was before FIFA and we began to negotiate.

"It was a very tough negotiation. Quite rightly, Barcelona looked at us with a certain mistrust. We showed them that we are doing things very seriously. We transmit credibility. We negotiated for almost a year until we reached a feasible agreement for both parties... a good agreement for Barca and a regular agreement for Santos.

"Before, Barcelona had an option for Gabigol, and now they have it for two players: Angelo and Kaiky, who are two jewels that arouse great attraction throughout the market.

"In sporting terms, it is great news for Barcelona. And, for Santos, it is an agreement that freed us from a Court of Arbitration for Sport sanction. It allows us to fulfil this commitment and move on with life.

"Calmly we found another solution, and here [Barca president, Joan] Laporta was fundamental. The negotiation ended well because the two presidents and the top executives of the clubs unblocked the situation.

"The values are confidential. There is a preference for Barcelona, and a fixed purchase price."

The 18-year-old Kaiky, who plays as a center-back, has attracted the attention of several clubs in Europe over the past few years and also became the youngest Brazilian player to score in the Copa Libertadores at the age of 17.

However, Angelo managed to break his record and at the age of 16 years and 105 days, he became the youngest Brazilian to score in the competitions of the top teams in South America.
