Reus disappointed with their performance against Leverkusen

Reus has talked about Dortmund’s performance after their 5-2 defeat against Leverkusen.

Borussia Dortmund

experienced a 5-2 defeat against

Bayer Leverkusen

in a game that started with two own goals from both sides, and they were two goals behind in the 28th minute of the game, and after the surprising defeat in the first half the fans expected a better start in the second half, but Dortmund conceded two more goals, and the only thing they could do was a late goal that

Steffen Tigges

scored in the last minutes and the game ended with a 5-2 defeat for Dortmund.

Dortmund’s high-profile captain

Marco Reus

has talked about their awful defeat calling it a catastrophic day for the club.

"It's a catastrophic day for us,"

Reus told Sky Sports.

"We didn't get into the game well and were a step too late in every situation. We then [allowed] counter-attacks,  even though we agreed before the game that that's their strength. We will be punished for that. It was just not enough today.

"We simply didn't implement the guidelines we prepared [before] the game for two weeks and worked on a lot. We always say the same thing and then have to bring it onto the pitch. We didn't manage that today. A very bitter day, we didn't deserve [to win] today. It was really, really bad overall."
