Copa del Rey last 16 round will see Barca face Athletic Bilbao
The Copa del Rey last 16 round will see Sevilla go against Real Betis, Barcelona face Athletic Bilbao, while Real Madrid will lock horns with Elche.
The Copa del Rey round of 16 has drawn
Barcelonaagainst
Athletic Bilbao, whereas
Sevillawill take on
Real Betis.
The Blaugrana were drawn against Athletic last year as well, winning the game courtesy of Lionel Messi’s brace, with the player contributing to his former side’s only trophy in a disappointing season.
Other ties are when Real Betis will go against Sevilla in a derby, while Sociedad will take on Atletico Madrid in another all La Liga encounter.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, will face Elche.
Carlo Ancelotti
was quizzed whether his side’s draw was easier compared to Barcelona and Atleti, he said:
"Well no, all the teams want to perform well.
"It will be a tough match we need to prepare it properly as we'll play away against Elche. For me, it's just a draw and we just need to be focused and prepared as the Copa del Rey is an important competition for us obviously."
