Newcastle’s offers for Digne & Schlotterbeck get rejected

Newcastle United have attempted to offer deals for Everton left-back Lucas Digne and Freiburg centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck, but they were rejected, as per reports from 90min.

Although

Everton

and

Freiburg

are willing to sell their players, it is said that

Lucas Digne

and

Nico Schlotterbeck

.

Since Digne and

Rafa Benitez

had a fall-out, the player decided to depart Everton and he has not played much after the two had an argument.

Everton acquired the serviced of Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dynamo Kiev as a replacement. They are keen on selling Digne; however, the clubs interested in the player are looking for an initial loan contract.

The player is eager to make a move to Chelsea, who are on the lookout for a left-back after Ben Chilwell suffered an injury. Leicester and West Ham are also eyeing the France international and he is considering all his options.

Newcastle

were looking for a quick contract and they negotiated with Everton, offering £22m and Sean Longstaff in the deal, a player Benitez knows from his time at Newcastle.

The Frenchman, however, insisted that he is not willing to join Newcastle, although his decision might change.

Schlotterbeck has also come to a decision that joining Newcastle is not for him. The 22-year-old has been attracting a lot of attention, with Newcastle’s £40m offer being rejected. Although Freiburg were willing to cash in on him, the highly-rated player did not want to rush a move.

Among the other clubs keeping tabs on him are Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, but the player emphasized last year that he does not feel the need to play abroad yet.

Newcastle have, therefore, turned their focus on Lille’s Sven Botman, but he is not certain to leave the club as they are playing in the Champions League.
