Villarreal receive a boost as Moreno is set to return
Villarreal provided an update on the Spain international, who has been dealing with an injury this season due to his hectic summer with Spain.
Gerard Moreno
became 2020-21 season’s highest-scoring Spaniard in La Liga, having met the target 22 times and scoring 30 across all competitions.
His rich vein of form helped him be part of the squad for
Euro 2020and reach the semi-finals with Spain, adding to his contribution to
Villarreal’s Europa League victory.
However, the Spain international is now dealing with two hamstring flare ups. He was initially rushed back but following his more serious hamstring problem, Villarreal are taking it more cautiously this time.
After missing many games on the club and international level, Moreno is now on the verge of returning to action, with Villarreal posting his picture while he was working out in the gym.
The 29-year-old will most likely not return this weekend for his side’s clash against
Celta Vigo, but he may be available when his side get ready to face
Manchester Unitedin the Champions League.
Juan Foyth
has also recovered from a hamstring injury and may return against Celta Vigo.
