Koke: Griezmann prefers winning over individual stats
The Atletico Madrid midfielder says the Rojiblancos are not worried about Griezmann’s form.
returned to Atletico Madrid on a loan deal this summer. The France international, who spent two seasons at Camp Nou, has struggled for form since his return to the Spanish capital. No goals, assists, or shots on target have been registered by the former Barca star this season, with many observers questioning whether the Rojiblancos will activate their option to buy the Frenchman.
Atletico midfielder Koke, however, believes Griezmann will find his best form as he slowly improves his performances.
“We are not worried about Antoine. Everybody needs to regain their level, he does not play alone. He has the confidence of all and things will come,”
Koke told a press conference.
“We have to be united. Surely he prefers to win than to shoot.”
The La Liga champions will face AC Milan in their next Champions League game on Tuesday.
Asked about Atletico’s plan for the game, Koke responded:
“To score goals and not be beaten. To be strong in both areas. To enter the games strong. We have to improve in both areas and we are working towards it,”
Following their match against Milan, Atletico will face Barcelona in their next La Liga clash on Saturday.
