Calvert-Lewin may miss some important matches

Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be sidelined for some time with a broken toe.

Everton’s

high-profile striker

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

is suffering from a broken toe and going to miss some games in a situation that

Benitez

can’t need him more.

The 24-year-old striker can be sidelined until after the October international break, which is bad news for Rafa Benitez, who could have used the England international’s quality, who had scored one goal in each of the first three games of his side. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was absent in Everton’s Premier League clash against Burnley, and Benitez has confirmed the player’s injury before that match.

“He has broken his toe,”

Bentiez admitted prior to kick-off

.

“He was training with problems and playing with pain. He had an injury the other day to his quadriceps and we have to wait two to three weeks, maybe more.”

If the England international’s absence takes two weeks, he will miss his side’s Premier League clashes against Aston Villa and Norwich and also one match in the EFL Cup against QPR, and if he sits out one more week, he will be absent in Everton’s tough game against Manchester United in October, which is what concerns Rafa Benitez the most. There is even a small possibility that his recovery takes more than three weeks, which means that he would be back after the October international break.
