Bakayoko joins Milan on a two-year loan deal with a buy-obligation

The 27-year-old midfielder's contract with Chelsea expires next summer, and Milan are reportedly close to signing Chelsea midfielder this summer after renewing his Chelsea contract.

According to

Goal

, Chelsea and AC Milan have struck a deal that will see Tiemoue Bakayoko move to San Siro.

The outlet reports the midfielder,

who spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Milan

, will return to Rossoneri for a second spell on a two-year loan deal.

As long as he meets certain playing-related conditions specified by the two clubs in their agreement, Milan will be obliged to purchase Bakayoko the end of the loan spell in June 2023.

Talking about the future of his client,

Bakayoko’s agent told an interview previously

: “Milan are looking for a player with his characteristics and it’s likely that they can make a proposal.

“At the moment, Tiemoue is a Chelsea player, but there’s a possibility to change his shirt and go to an Italian team.

“Milan are a great team and if the opportunity arises, we will do everything possible to bring him to the Rossoneri.

“[Paolo] Maldini and [Frederic] Massara know him, they know what he can give.”

Joining Chelsea in 2017 from Monaco

, the Frenchman hasn’t played for the team since his arrival, and that was the reason behind his loan move to Italy and maybe the reason why his representative doesn’t want him to stay at Chelsea.
