Pellegrini criticizes La Liga’s quality

Real Betis boss thinks that football is slow in La Liga.

Real Betis

boss has criticized the quality of the game in Spain’s top-flight, claiming that the games are too slow and there is a lot of time-wasting going on in the competition.

Manuel Pellegrini

, who saw his side struggle for the winner against

Cadiz

in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw, says that there are teams in the competition that can damage the league’s reputation by disrupting the flow of matches.

Pellegrini launched into a tirade in his post-match press conference, telling reporters:

"We have to make an effort between referees, coaches and players so that La Liga is not this shame because in the referees' meeting they told us that it is the slowest league in Europe.

"People want to watch a show, and we're not giving it to them. The most time-wasting, the most dives, it's a disgrace.

"There is a show that we have to take care of. People pay a ticket for something."

The Chilean head coach and his men have gained two points from their first two matches in the season, and they are going to face Real Madrid next week, which can be their biggest test so far in this season, although the Verdiblancos have shown some impressive performances in their recent clashes against Real Madrid, winning two games and having a draw against them in their last six meetings.
