Marseille CEO keen on signing Valencia's Daniel Wass
Marseille is approaching Valencia about selling another of their key players this summer.
Valencia fans were forced to witness their team being torn apart as the club traded important players
Dani Parejo
and
Francis Coquelin
to Villarreal last summer.
The transfer was regarded as just another indication of Los Ché president
Peter Lim
's lack of passion, and it's hoped the team won't be further weakened this summer with the addition of Pepe Bordalas.
On the other hand, Valencia will have to hold their ground if they are to prevent losing another crucial player to Marseille, who are keen on acquiring the full-back Daniel Wass.
Marseille chairman
Pablo Longoria
revealed to
Sport:
"I have an immense respect for Daniel, who I knew in Valencia.
"There is interest demonstrated to the player and transmitted to Valencia. But they are difficult negotiations, with a player who has a contract until June 2022.
"One has to wait and see the different possibilities of this operation."
The 32-year-old Wass has been with Valencia since joining from Celta Vigo in 2018, but his agreement only has one year left on it, indicating Los Ché might be persuaded to sell to prevent losing him for nothing next year.
