Kyogo Furuhashi signs for Celtic

The Japanese star will play in the Celtic League from next season.

Celtic

have announced that they have reached an agreement with Vissel Kobe to sign Kyogo Furuhashi.

The Scottish club have confirmed that Furuhashi will have a four-year contract and that the transfer will be finalized depending on the medical tests the player undergoes.

Former Yokohama F Marinos boss Ange Postecoglou, who won the 2019 Japanese league title with the team, is currently in charge of Celtic.

Furuhashi is the league's top scorer with 14 goals so far in the Japanese league. In 2019, he played his first national game for Japan against Venezuela, but for the second game, he waited about a year to play in a 3-0 win over South Korea in March.

Postecoglou said:

"We are delighted to bring Kyogo Furuhashi to Celtic. He is a player of real quality and clearly someone I know well."I think he will add something special to our squad and I am sure the way he plays will excite our supporters. We look forward to welcoming him to Celtic."
