Barcelona’s Miralem Pjanic to join Juventus’ rival, Inter
Given the severity of Barcelona's economic crisis, every dollar counts. Pjanic's entry as part of a Barca-Juve exchange deal has been a perplexing and contentious choice. It was just a clandestine operation to balance the books, and it hasn't gone well.
Carrying a reputation as one of the finest playmakers in Europe’s top-five divisions,
Pjanic
joined the Blaugrana on a €60.00m deal that involved
Arthur Melo
as a part of the deal.
However, the Bosnian failed to secure a place in Ronald Koeman’s first-team the last term as
he left unhappy with his limited game-time.
Previously, having been hit hard by the pandemic’s economic effects,
Barcelona offered compensation packages to terminate the Bosnian's contractas he featured in only 13 matches for the Catalans in their 2020-21 campaign. However, Pjanic rejected Blaugrana’s offer.
Now, according to
La Reppublica, the 31-year-old playmaker could make a shock move to
Juve’s
arch-rivals
Inter
. The Nerazzurri would reportedly only sign Pjanic if he accepts a salary pay-cut.
Currently earning €6.5 million a year at Barcelona,
Inter
are offering the Bosnian a contract that worth €5.5 million a year.
Pjanic would replace Arturo Vidal at Inter, who is heading towards the Giuseppe Meazza exit.
