Marseille have finalized the signing of Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi on a loan deal that includes an option to buy.

Marseille

have reached an agreement with

Arsenal

over acquiring

Matteo Guendouzi

’s services on a loan deal with an option to buy if some conditions are met.

The 22-year-old, who made a move to the Gunners in 2018, was playing for Hertha Berlin last season on a loan deal and made 24 appearances and met the back of the net two times before sustaining an injury.

He played in 82 matches for Arsenal and had a crucial role under the reign of Unai Emery but Mikel Arteta did not favor him upon his arrival.

A Marseille statement confirming the move said:

"Guendouzi is a modern midfielder, technically strong and with good passing quality.

"A player of character, he has a good vision of the game. These qualities he will undoubtedly be able to share with the Olympic Marseille team."

The French midfielder is the second player to exit the Emirates Stadium on a loan contract as the Gunners pursue Ben White.

After negotiations with technical director Edu and Arteta, they have realized that it would be best for his development to go on a loan deal.
