Arsenal reject second Aston Villa bid for Smith Rowe

The bid was Villa’s second effort to sign the young playmaker, but it was rejected by the Gunners who are interested in keeping the 20-year-old.

Emile Smith Rowe

has attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs ahead of the next season. The 20-year-old was a key player for Mikel Arteta’s side in their 2020-21 campaign, where he featured in 20 league matches for the Gunners.

Aston Villa

made an initial bid of £25 million for Smith Rowe two weeks ago, but

Arsenal

made it clear that the player is not for sale. The Villa raised their initial bid by £5m, submitting an official bid of £30m for the English midfielder. However, their second offer was also rejected by the Gunners, who reiterated their stance that they are not interested in selling the 20-year-old.

It is unclear whether Aston Villa will continue their efforts to sign Smith Rowe. Arsenal are reportedly planning to sign a five-year deal with the midfielder. However, until an agreement is reached, interested clubs will try to prize the player away from the Emirates Stadium.
