England duo to miss final group stage clash against Czech Republic

Chilwell and Mount are set to miss the Three Lions last final Euro group match after interacting with COVID-positive Billy Gilmour.

England internationals,

Ben Chilwell

and

Mason Mount

are set to miss England’s last group stage clash against Czech Republic on Tuesday due to interacting with Chelsea teammate,

Billy Gilmour

in the Three Lions’ second Euro match against Scotland on Friday. Gilmour tested positive for coronavirus on Monday and has started self-isolation.

The FA released a statement a few hours ago, saying Chilwell and Mount must isolate themselves up to June 28.

The statement reads:

"[Mount and Chilwell] must isolate up to and including next Monday, June 28. The decision has been taken in consultation with Public Health England.

"The entire England squad and staff had lateral flow tests on Monday and all were again negative, as was the case with Sunday's UEFA pre-match PCR tests.

"Mount and Chilwell will isolate and train individually in private areas at England's training base St George's Park, with the rest of the squad returning there after tonight's fixture against Czech Republic at Wembley.

"Further tests will be carried out as and when appropriate."
