UEFA names Eriksen 'the star of the Euro 2020 Denmark-Finland match'

Denmark captain Christian Eriksen collapsed during his side's Euro 2020 opener against Finland, and after medical treatment on the pitch, as he was given CPR, the Inter midfielder was pulled off the ground on a stretcher and then was taken to hospital.

 

UEFA then confirmed that

 the Danish midfielder was transferred to 

hospital 

and is in a 

stabilized 

condition. The former 

Spurs 

star later used Facetime to speak to his teammates in the dressing room and 

encouraged them to continue the delayed game

.

, wanted to mark the occasion by giving the playmaker

“Football is a beautiful game and Christian plays it beautifully,” 

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin 

said.

“Tonight's Star of the Match is Christian Eriksen. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Christian,” the UEFA Euro 2020 official Twitter account concluded their tweet regarding the 

Group B

 match between 

Finland 

and 

Denmark

which ended with a historic victory for Finnish men
