Alfredo Morelos tests positive for Covid-19

The Colombia international’s coronavirus test turned out to be positive when he was on international duty.

Alfredo Morelos

was called up to be part of the Colombia squad for the World Cup qualifier clashes with Peru and Argentina.

However, the 24-year-old along with kinesiologist Jose Rendon tested positive for covid-19 and he does not know if he caught it before or during his time in Colombia.

Colombia wrote on their official

Twitter

page:

"After knowing the positive results, following the protocols, the respective isolation of the two people was carried out, who for the moment, are in good health."

According to WHO, if a player tests positive, he should quarantine himself for ten days, which will have him miss the battle against Peru.

If his symptoms get developed during that time, he needs to quarantine himself for at least ten days following the start of the symptoms, and a further three days should be added after symptoms disappear.

Colombia’s Copa America campaign starts on June 15 and they will lock horns with Ecuador. Morelos missing one or two World Cup qualifiers hampered his chance of making that squad.
