Roy Hodgson to depart Crystal Palace in the summer

Crystal Palace announced that their manager Roy Hodgson will leave the club when the campaign ends.

After four years of reign at

Crystal Palace

,

Roy Hodgson

is expected to leave his role at the club this summer after the club decided not to offer him an extension.

The 73-year-old, who joined the club in 2017, helped lead the club to make up for the damage made by Frank de Boer during his time at the helm. He led Palace to survival during his debut campaign and continued to keep them up in the Premier League.

The veteran boss’s contract is due to expire in the summer and he is not answering questions about whether he plans to stay at Selhurst Park for the next campaign. According to

The Times

, Hodgson will not receive any offers for a new contract.

Speculations are raising about who his successor will be, with ex-Chelsea manager Frank Lampard being one of the potential candidates.

However, other reports claim that the former Blues boss is not considered for the Palace job.

According to

90min

, Burnley manager Sean Dyche is the favorite candidate to replace Hodgson, but the club has yet to make an offer.

Among the other potential candidates are Barnsley’s Valerien Ismael and Swansea’s Steve Cooper.

Notwithstanding who will take over the club, Hodgson will depart Palace with fans’ full respect during his final days.

The Eagles’ supporters are going to attend their battle against

Arsenal

next Wednesday, which will provide them with a chance to give an appropriate sent-off to Hodgson.
