Mouctar Diakhaby: I want Cala to be punished for racism
The Valencia defender insists he ‘won’t go off the field’ regarding his racial abuse case.
Mouctar Diakhaby
claimed he was racially abused by
Juan Caladuring
Valencia’s league clash against
Cadizon April 4. Diakhaby and his teammates left the field in protest and the match continued with Diakhaby and Cala both being substituted. However, the league’s president
Javier Tebas
hinted in
an interviewthat Diakhaby has probably ‘misunderstood’ Cala’s comment. Despite a recent
reportclaiming there is no ‘substantial evidence’ of racist abuse in Diakhaby’s case, he insists on his claim and wants the FA to punish Cala for racial abuse.
He told
Marca:
“Juan Cala insulted me and called me a ‘black s**t’. You have seen my reaction and you can see in the videos what happened,
“The investigation has not ruled in favour of Cala, it’s ongoing. We will go before the Federation this week and a judge will try to solve the case.
“The story is not over. I do not understand the situation, knowing the evidence they have.
“They know clues that are confidential. There are tapes, but apparently they do not tell everything.
“I am not crazy, I am not going to go off the field and create a false controversy.
“I don’t know him personally, I can’t say he’s a racist. But that day he said racist things and I want him to be punished for that.”
Cala has not accepted the accusations and Cadiz kept him in the team’s squad for their last week’s victory over
Getafe.
