M'Gladbach loaned Andreas Poulsen to Austria Wien for the second time

Borussia Mönchengladbach affirmed on Monday that Danish left-back Andreas Poulsen would spend the remainder of the season in Austria.

The 21-year-old defender goes to Vienna for his subsequent loan spell with

FK Austria Wien

. Poulsen spent the previous spring on a momentary loan in the Austrian capital, playing five games for the Colts.

Poulsen, whom Gladbach bought from Danish club FC Midtjylland in January 2018 for a €4.5 million exchange expense, has still yet to show up for the senior side in the league. He earned minutes in one

DFB Pokal

action.

The player had been connected to multiple loan talks within the

Bundesliga

all through January; however, rumors of negotiations with Mainz and a few second-level teams couldn't become a reality.

Mönchengladbach's director of sports Max Eberl clarified that the club was not near abandoning an esteemed prospect and expressed his hopes that Poulsen would

"get as much practice as possible at a high level."
