Malcuit eager to start at Fiorentina
French defender Kevin Malcuit suffered from injuries during his spell at Napoli but now he is eager to compensate for lost time at Fiorentina.
The 29-year-old defender recovered from a ruptured cruciate ligament injury but struggled to break into the
Napolisquad, so he moves to the Viola on a loan contract for the remainder of the season.
“I have to say that I had two wonderful years at Napoli, even if I didn’t play much under the latest coach, partly due to fitness problems. I hope to make up for lost time in Florence,”
said Malcuit in his press
conference
.
“I want to get back to 100 percent and I’m certain that I’ll find my form in Florence. I can play in any position on the right, so I’m at the total disposal of the coach.
“I knew Fiorentina were following me, but there wasn’t direct contact for a while. As soon as the proposal did come, I didn’t hesitate to say yes, as I’m proud to wear this jersey.
“I already spoke to Cesare Prandelli before the move and I liked him straight away. He immediately said that he has faith in me and wants me to play in my natural role. All players hope to hear that when they move clubs.”
