Napoli plan for Benitez’s return following a tough season with Gattuso
The Serie A club hope for the return of Benitez to after their 3-1 defeat to Verona.
With the rising pressure on the current
Napolimanager, Gennaro Gattuso, the club president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, hopes they can bring back their former boss,
Rafa Benitez
, who won them a Supercoppa in 2014.
According to some reports, De Laurentiis has already contacted Benitez after the latter terminated his contract with
Chinese Super League
club,
Dalian, due to his fear of coronavirus.

reported that the Napoli president has called for a meeting to talk about
Gattuso
's situation with the team and in case he fails to see to his duties he will be replaced by Benitez.
During his time with Napoli, Benitez led Napoli to Champions League qualification ahead of joining
Real Madrid.
