Modric agrees to a reduction in his wages to stay with Real Madrid
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric agreed with receiving less salary to ensure his stay at the club.
Luka Modric
has played a key role in
Real Madrid’s recent victories with his rich vein of form, although he was out of action in the
La Ligaclash against
Granada.
The Croatia international’s contract is due to expire this summer and he is planning to extend it for another year through salary reduction. Sergio Ramos and Lucas Vazquez are the two other players who will be out of contract by the end of the campaign as well. However, the latter two did not agree with a reduction in their salary.
The 35-year-old has won the Ballon d’Or in 2018 and featured in 365 games for Real Madrid, finding the target 26 times.
