Andy Carroll asked the team-mates to stay united

“It’s been a long time, but it doesn’t mean anything at the end of the day now, so we’ll just move on to the next.” said Carroll after consolation strike.

With

Leicester

's 2-1 victory over

Newcastle United

, the Magpies

experienced its fourth defeat in six games.

Defeat to Championship

Brentford

has also increased the fans' rage. However,

Andy Carroll

insists that the dressing room must stay beside each other and be united.

The 31-year-old striker said:

“You saw in the performance against Liverpool especially how we can play when we stick together.

“We defended well, we went forward well and we are a team – and we’re like that every day in training as well.”

He also added a comment upon back to back games:

“It’s not been a nice run, especially when the games are every two, three days. It’s been tough for everyone, rolling out every two or three days.

“But that’s what happens around this time of year and unluckily for us, we got the best teams in the league.”

However, the Magpies need to improve as soon as possible not to be working another year for the top place of the table.

Recovering from coronavirus has kept

Allan Saint-Maximin

from joining team exercises and has limited

Bruce

's effort to improve the team.

The 31-year-old managed to score once in the 378 minutes of playing football.  He said that they must improve.

The last time that the striker scored was on boxing day in 2010. Caroll said:

“It’s been a long time, but it doesn’t mean anything at the end of the day now, so we’ll just move on to the next.”
