Piscopo will miss Phoenix’s next two games

Wellington Phoenix boss will be without his key player for their first two games.

Reno Piscopo

will miss

Wellington Phoenix’s

next two matches because of a calf injury that he has picked in pre-season as

Ufuk Talay

confirms. The injury is not serious but the matches that he is going to miss are important fixtures for the club.

Here is what Ufuk Talay said about Piscopo’s injury.

“Reno is injured with a calf injury so he won’t be available for the first game,”

Talay said

.

“He possibly might miss the first two games but it’s good that we have that break on the weekend of the 16th-17th and hopefully he’ll be available for game three.”

They have another injured player that Talay says he may sit out if he doesn’t recover from his injury by the time that game starts.

Tomer Hemed played 15 minutes for them in the preseason, but Talay will decide about his playing minutes in their opening match.

“He’s pretty fit actually in the sense of how is body is but obviously he needs game minutes in his legs,”

he said.

“But the season is long and we’ve got to make sure we build him up and get him ready to start playing.”
