Steffen Tigges to make his Dortmund debut ahead of DFB Pokal’s match

Thorgan Hazard, who missed Dortmund’s last three games due to a muscle injury, can mark his return in DFB Pokal’s clash against Eintracht Braunschweig as well.

Dortmund

will face

Eintracht Braunschweig

in the second round of Germany’s DFB Pokal, and according to the newspaper, Ruhr Nachrichten, a decision on whether

Hazard

will be involved in the match is to be made.

Five first-team players were not part of the Borussia Dortmund’s traveling squad to Braunschweig, as

Erling Haaland

was the last player to leave the Brackel Training Center on Monday evening. Although Dortmund’s acting-manager,

Edin Terzic

, said during his press conference that he expects the striker to be back in early January, the Norwegian is working on his comeback from injury.

Marcel Schmelzer

,

Mahmoud Dahoud

,

Reinier Jesus

, and

Felix Passlack

weren’t part of the traveling squad.

Reinier

,

Passlack

, and

Schmelzer

all missed Friday’s game against Union Berlin for injury, but the reason behind

Dahoud’s

absence is yet to be revealed.

Borussia Dortmund II captain and top scorer,

Steffen Tigges

, will be a part of Dortmund’s DFB Pokal squad. The 22-year-old has found the net 12 times in 18 appearances in the Regionalliga West this season. If

Tigges

is involved on Tuesday, it would be his first appearance for the senior team.
