Manchester United interested in former defender

According to the reports, the Red Devils might have a surprise move and attempt to sign Jonny Evans.

Since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson,

Manchester United

have always had a problem at the back. They invested a lot of money to find a solution but they have not been successful much. This season, they have the same partnership, Lindelof and Maguire. But there are not many options as back up for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are injury prone, Marcus Rojo is unwanted and Axel Tuanzebe has not proved to be trusted. Although he had a great performance against PSG, he could not repeat the same form.

According to the Mirror, Manchester United are planning to re-sign

Jonny Evans

who left them when Louis Van Gaal was in charge. The Northern Irish defender has been very successful in

Leicester City

and is a key player in their squad.

Brendan Rodgers would surely be reluctant to let him leave as he also doesn’t have many options but if the board of Leicester decides to take the cash instead of risking the departure of the player for free, he definitely is not in the place to argue with that.
