Lampard is satisfied with Werner

Werner scored his sixth and seventh goals for Chelsea against Rennes in their 3-0 victory.

Chelsea

won another

Champions League

match with their seventh consecutive clean sheet. Things are going well for

Chelsea

so far this season.

Werner

played at the left side for

Chelsea

against

Rennes

but he scored twice from the penalty spot.

Tammy Abraham

scored the third goal and finished the game for Chelsea.

Despite not being able to create any chance,

Lampard

is satisfied with Werner's performance. The German striker who joined Chelsea from

RB Leipzig

scored 7 goals for Chelsea so far this season. The Chelsea boss says that the fact that the transfer of Werner completed quickly and he was able to participate in training with the Blues early have had an impact on his performance.

"That he could train with us early was a big bonus for us," he told a news conference.

"He's adapting quickly and he's been easy to manage. He works and plays well. I felt he had the endurance to last 90 minutes. I'm very happy with him."

Lampard also confirmed

Werner

 – who also scored from the spot against

Krasnodar

last week – is now the club's first-choice penalty taker, replacing Jorginho.

"I spoke with Jorginho first because he has been brilliant," he said. "I felt it was time to have a change. He was fine with that. Timo took them well today.

"Timo is [our penalty taker] as it stands now but he has to keep scoring them."
