Matheus Fernandes could be Koman's new surprise.

Barcelona midfielder Matheus Fernandes could be the unexpected player picked by Koman for the next week's lineup.

The Brazilian youngster joined

Barcelona

in a €7m bargain from Palmeiras in January, however, Blaugrana chose to send him off on a six-month loan to Real Valladolid.

The 22-year old got back to the Catalan for this pre-season preparations, yet a tenacious

hamstring injury

has pushed him in the margins so far in the 2020/21 season.

He got back to light preparing a week ago and the club has now formally affirmed his comeback to full wellness.

Reports from Marca suggest Koeman may have changed his mind on Fernandes in the wake of showing he would be available to sell him before the transfer window is shut.

In any case, with a bustling run of games coming up before the November international break, he could be enlisted in for his club debut in November.
