Several Serie A clubs want to sign the Swiss star.
Zakaria's contract is valid until June 2022, which means that clubs can enter into negotiations to sign him as a free agent from January. Juventus and Roma have already tried to sign Zakaria, and the Swiss star has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City.
Monchengladbach's director didn't rule out the January exit and said:
“Could he leave in January? I can’t rule anything out in the era of Coronavirus.
“Our message is clear, we want to extend the contracts with Matthias Ginter and Denis Zakaria. They are looking not just for an economic deal, but one that will suit their sporting ambitions too.”
Inter also feel the danger of Marcelo Brzovic's separation more than before, and therefore, they will seriously seek to attract Zakaria. Roma and Juventus need to sell players to sign Zakaria, but Inter may have more leeway than their rivals, given the sale of several stars last summer.
