Sky Sports: Ronaldo submits a transfer request amid Man City links

With one week left until the end of the summer transfer window, the future of the Juventus superstar is still unknown. However, it seems the former Manchester United winger is close to a move to Manchester City.

According to

Sky Sports

, Cristiano Ronaldo, through his agent Jorge Mendes, has told

Juventus

he no longer wants to play for the club, according to Sky in Italy.

The outlet reports that the Citizens are willing to offer the five-time Ballon d’Or winner a two-year contract, with a salary of £12.8m-per-season.

Meanwhile, the Bianconeri are preparing themselves for an offer from

Manchester City

. Although the reigning Premier League champions prefer to sign Ronaldo for free, Juve want at least £25m for the Portugal captain.

Juve

, who are willing to sell Ronaldo before his contract end next summer, have already started searching for a forward player as a replacement with

Everton’s Moise Keane

 emerging as their ideal signing.

The Italian scored 17 goals in 41 games while on loan at Paris-Saint Germain last season.

Joining Juventus from Real Madrid in 2018 for a £105m fee,

Ronaldo

has scored 101 goals in 134 games for the club, helping them to two Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia crown, and two Italian Super Cups.

Ronaldo was on the bench

for the Juventus Serie A season opener, a 2-2 draw against Udinese.

However, Juve’s president was fast to tackle the speculations.

“I can absolutely confirm Ronaldo will remain at Juventus this season,” Nedved insisted.
