Salah breaks another record in the Premier League

Sat 14 August 2021 | 19:13

Mohamed Salah has scored in five consecutive opening games in the PL.

The

Reds

started their new campaign with an easy 3-0 victory over

Norwich City

as

Diogo Jota

opened the scoring halfway through the first half in a day that he was chosen to start the match alongside

Mohamed Salah

and

Sadio Mane

.

Liverpool’s high-profile striker, who had been with his national team until recently, came in to replace Jota in the last 30 minutes of the game and scored a goal to show his form at the beginning of the season.

But the main part of the game was Salah’s record-breaking goal in a game that he had already shown his value by providing two assists. The Egypt international scored his side’s last goal in the match 16 minutes before the end of the game to become the first player in the Premier League’s history to score in the opening match of five consecutive seasons.

The Reds are looking to return to their expected place, after a season full of injuries and fitness issues, and

Jurgen Klopp

, who has already seen

Andy Robertson’s

injury at the beginning of this season, hopes that

Konstantinos Tsimikas

acceptable performance until the return of the Reds first choice in the left-back position.
