Rangers’ star defeats his teammates in the race for the PFA Scotland player of the year.

Tavernier scored 19 goals for his team in a campaign that wasn’t only a good one for himself, but a team success too as the club won the Scottish Premiership title.

Other Rangers’ members have also won personal prizes, as Steven Davis won the Scottish Football Writers’ Association award and Allan McGregor became the SPFL Premiership Player of the year, and Steven Gerrard was named the GMB Scotland Manager of the year.

The other names in the manager of the year shortlist were St Johnstone's Callum Davidson, who is one game away from a cup double, Livingston boss David Martindale and John McGlynn of Raith Rovers.

The PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year prize was given to Celtic’s young talent David Turnbull who was one of the most important players on his side.

Other names in the young player of the year shortlist were Rangers' Nathan Patterson, Ali McCann of St Johnstone, and Hibernian left-back Josh Doig.

Liam Boyce, who plays for Hearts, was named the Championship player of the year.
