Bournemouth to begin negotiations with Thierry Henry

Sat 20 February 2021 | 9:25

The Cherries have been searching for a replacement for their former manager, Jason Tindall, and Thierry Henry, and they have reportedly asked Montreal for permission to speak to Arsenal legend.

After being dismissed from

Monaco

in 2019, Henry took head coaching role at

Montreal

Impact

and led the club to the playoffs for the first time since 2016 in his first season. Now he’s reportedly emerged as a top candidate for the Bournemouth job along with

Patrick

Viera

,

David

Wagner

, and current caretaker boss,

Jonathan

Woodgate

.

After his sacking from

AS

Monaco

, French football expert

Jonathan

Johnson

told Sky Sports that a lack of respect among players contributed to his downfall.

"He doesn't seem to show much respect to the players and to opponents either. So a lot of the players in the squad felt his behaviour didn't befit that of a top club's coach. They went to the Monaco hierarchy and the leaders of Monaco had to make a decision at that moment."
