Mohamed Salah’s future between transfer ambiguity and the Dean’s desires

A complex transitional drama reveals details and surprises in a potential departure and new touches on the Saudi football map

Media reports indicate that Al-Ittihad Jeddah is preparing to take a decisive step next week, with the continued uncertainty about the future of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah with Liverpool.

Despite the links that were made between Salah’s name and his move to Jeddah last summer in a huge deal, the Egyptian player preferred to stay with his current team.

Recently, speculations have returned about the possibility of Salah moving next summer, especially with Al-Ittihad Jeddah’s serious efforts to strengthen its ranks with world-class stars to compensate for the previous season, which was modest, in addition to the crisis that Salah is experiencing with his coach Jurgen Klopp.

In his talk to the Saudi “Al-Arabiya” channel, the reliable Italian journalist Rudy Galetti confirmed that Salah is Al-Ittihad Jeddah’s first choice in the transfer market, but the negotiations are going slowly, which pushed the club to look at other options, including its interest in the player Heung Min Son, Tottenham Hotspur star.

Galetti added that no official contact has been made yet between Al-Ittihad Jeddah and Son, but the club is adamant about following this promising option.

Al-Ittihad Jeddah is scheduled to start its talks with Son next week, to inquire about his position on moving to the Saudi league in the new season.

Regarding Salah’s position, Galetti explained that he wants to talk first with the potential coach of Liverpool before deciding his future, indicating that he has not yet made a final decision regarding his next destination, and it is expected that things will be clarified after his potential meeting with the new coach.
